S40 identifies an attachment interface. Check the exact configuration on the machine and attachment before ordering. The machine model or weight class alone does not confirm fitment.
The attachment-side bracket and the machine-side coupler are separate components. Driven tools and extensions also have their own connection to the drive.
S40 common questions
Does an S40 label confirm a match?
No. Check the interface configuration, installation weight and intended use against the documentation for the machine and fitted coupler. Hydraulic attachments also need their flow, pressure and return requirements checked.
Is an attachment bracket the same as a quick coupler?
No. The bracket is fitted to the attachment. Identify the coupler installed on the machine separately. The S designation alone does not describe its locking mechanism.
What information should I send?
Send the machine model and generation, fitted coupler make and model, attachment product code and photos of the marking and interface. Include circuit specifications for hydraulic attachments.
Do augers and extensions connect directly to the machine hitch?
Do not infer that from a product selection. Identify the drive-to-tool interface separately. S4 and S5 accessory names are different from S40 and S50 machine hitch designations.
