S80 Quick Hitch — Heavy Excavator Standard

Not sure which hitch you have? Use the finder

S80 is the heaviest of the five common European hitch standards, fitted to large excavators above 25 tonnes — the machines that build motorways, quarry rock, and shift industrial-scale earthworks. Carriers include the Volvo EC300, CAT 330 / 336, Komatsu PC290LC, Hitachi ZX350LC, Liebherr R 930 / R 938, and Doosan DX300LC. Pin diameter is 80 mm with bracket centres scaled for the very high hydraulic flows (140 L/min+) and structural loads of these machines.

Our range is built for S30 to S70, so we don’t list any S80 attachments today. If you run a 25 tonne or heavier machine we still help: we match the nearest size or re-pin a bracket at our Saltsjö-Boo workshop. Call us or use the finder and we’ll see what fits your machine. The difference from S70 is the 80 mm pin (versus 70 mm) and the heavier bracket geometry, so an S70 attachment won’t fit an S80 bracket without modification.

FAQ

S80 common questions

Which excavators use S80?
S80 is standard for most 25-tonne+ heavy European excavators including the Volvo EC300 / EC380, CAT 330 / 336 / 349, Komatsu PC290LC / PC360, Hitachi ZX350LC, Liebherr R 930 / R 938, and Doosan DX300LC. Always confirm via the machine’s manual — some heavy machines (45t+) move into S100 territory which is outside our standard range.
What kind of work is the S80 class right for?
S80 carriers are the right tool for motorway construction, quarry work, large-scale demolition, deep foundation excavation, and bulk earthworks above 1 000 m³ per day. For most general contracting work the S60/S70 class is more economical to run and transport.
Can I order custom-sized S80 attachments?
Yes — for very wide buckets (1.5 m+), heavy demolition shears, or specialist forestry attachments we manufacture to order. Lead time is typically 4–6 weeks. Send a spec to our team via the Contact form or call +46 10 520 04 68.
