Grapples for Sale

Grapples turn an excavator into a precision material handler. Whether you’re sorting demolition debris, loading log trucks, processing scrap steel, or stacking pallets of concrete blocks, the right grapple cuts cycle time and protects what you’re moving. The grapples in this category split into two patterns: 360° hydraulic-rotating grapples for fine placement work (loading trucks, stacking, demolition pick), and fixed grapples for high-volume bulk handling.

Both GORE and AWA grapples use abrasion-resistant lined jaws to resist abrasion when handling rebar, brick, and rock fragments. Jaw opening ranges from 1 400 mm (AWA 5–12t class) up to 1 600 mm (GORE 10–25t), giving you the bite needed for awkward demolition lumps and full log lengths. Pressure ratings and oil flow are listed per product so you can match the grapple to your machine’s aux-circuit spec before ordering.

When Do You Need 360° Rotation?

A rotating grapple lets you place loads at any angle without repositioning the carrier — essential for stacking logs across an existing pile, loading trucks tight to a wall, or demolition where you need to twist debris through a window opening. For straight pick-and-load work (scrap into a truck, debris into a skip) a fixed grapple is faster and cheaper. Most operators end up with a rotating grapple as their primary and a fixed grapple for high-volume jobs.

What Pressure and Flow Do Hydraulic Grapples Need?

AWA grapples run on 180–260 bar and 30–60 L/min — within reach of any 5–16t excavator’s aux circuit. GORE grapples want 200–300 bar and 60–100 L/min, matching the heavier hydraulics of 10–25t carriers. Always confirm your machine’s breaker/grapple circuit spec before ordering — undersupplying flow is the most common cause of slow rotation and overheating.

FAQ

Frequently asked

Can I run a grapple on a quick hitch?
Yes — every grapple on this page comes with a top bracket pre-fitted to your chosen hitch standard. Switching from bucket to grapple on a hydraulic hitch takes under 10 seconds. You will need an aux-hydraulic circuit on your carrier for jaw open/close (and a second circuit for rotation if you choose a 360° model).
What jaw opening do I need for log handling?
For Nordic softwood up to 350 mm diameter, a 1 400 mm jaw (AWA) is enough. For mixed log lengths and 500 mm+ hardwood diameters, choose the GORE 1 600 mm jaw. Forestry contractors handling whole-tree harvesting normally specify the larger jaw for fewer trips.
Are these grapples suitable for scrap-yard handling?
Yes. The abrasion-resistant jaw lining handles rebar, plate steel, and mixed scrap without deforming. For continuous scrap-yard duty we recommend the GORE rotating grapple with auto-greasing — under-greased pivot pins are the leading wear failure in scrap applications.
