Hitches for Sale

A hitch is the single most productive upgrade a contractor can make to an excavator. Without one, swapping from bucket to breaker means dropping pins, re-pinning, and 5–10 minutes per change — repeated three or four times a day. With a hydraulic hitch, the operator stays in the cab and swaps attachments in under 10 seconds. For a contractor running mixed work that’s typically 30+ minutes saved per machine per day.

We stock manual and hydraulic patterns from S30 (sub-2t mini) up to S80 (25t+). The GORE range is fully hydraulic with a double-lock safety mechanism — switch attachments without leaving the seat, with a mechanical fail-safe in case of hydraulic loss. The AWA range is mechanical (pin-locked) for budget-conscious operators or carriers without a spare hydraulic circuit. Both meet EN 474-5. Note: these are quick-couplers, not tiltrotators — we do not currently stock tilt-rotating heads.

What Hitch Standard Does My Excavator Need?

The standards cover the European market end to end: S30 (0.8–2t micro), S40 (3–6t mini), S45 (5–9t), S60 (8–16t — most universal), S70 (16–25t), and S80 (25t+). The standard is determined by your machine’s pin geometry — pin diameter, pin-to-pin centres, and bracket width. Your machine’s manual will list it, or use our Hitch Finder to map your make and model to the right standard.

Hydraulic or Mechanical — Which Should You Buy?

Hydraulic hitches (GORE) are the right choice for any contractor who swaps attachments multiple times per day — the time saving pays back in weeks. Mechanical hitches (AWA) are cheaper, simpler, and have nothing to leak — they suit operators who run one or two attachments and rarely swap, or who want an entry-level hitch for an older machine without spare hydraulics.

FAQ

Frequently asked

Are these hitches CE-certified?
Yes. Both hitches comply with EN 474-5 and CE marking requirements for excavator quick-coupling devices. The GORE hydraulic hitch includes the mandatory mechanical secondary lock that prevents accidental release if hydraulic pressure is lost — required for all CE-compliant hydraulic hitches sold in the EU since 2010.
Will my existing attachments fit a new hitch?
If they’re already pinned to the same standard (e.g. all S60), yes — they’ll lock into the new hitch without modification. If you’re mixing standards (e.g. older S45 buckets onto a new S60 hitch), our workshop in Saltsjö-Boo can re-pin the bracket. Allow 2–3 days turnaround.
Do hydraulic hitches require an extra circuit on my machine?
Yes — the GORE hydraulic hitch needs a single dedicated aux circuit (one pair of hydraulic lines) controlled from a cab switch. Most modern excavators have this fitted from the factory. If yours doesn’t, we can supply a kit and recommend a fitter.
