The Wacker Neuson EW100 is a 10-tonne wheeled excavator, which makes it quick between sites and at home on tarmac. It has become a favourite for municipal operations, cable and street work where you move yourself between jobs without a transport. On Swedish sites it runs utility, services and street maintenance where mobility on wheels counts as much as digging force.

On a street job the EW100 drives to the site on its own wheels, digs out a cable or swaps a culvert, and drives on to the next address. On a utility job it lays services and exposes pipe. The wheels mean you handle several short jobs in a day without booking a machine transport between each.

With the S45 hitch you run a digging bucket, a sorting grapple and a medium breaker, and the wheels move you between jobs yourself. At 10 tonnes the machine carries medium attachments steadily, but on a wheeled excavator you remember to have the outriggers down when you lift heavy and reach out far.

Buckets and attachments that fit the EW100

Check the oil flow against the breaker spec before you buy. The EW100 has the flow for a medium breaker, but it has to be matched to your machine hydraulics to hit right and last. On a wheeled excavator the outriggers should be down when you break so the machine stands stable.

An auger drive is useful on the EW100 for post holes and footing piles, for example for signs, lighting and fences in a street setting. The drive rotates and the auger bit is the part that sits in it, and you choose the size by the hole.
