How it works
- 01
Enter purchase price, one-off costs, useful life, residual value, interest and repair factor. Depreciation, interest and repairs per year appear as you type.
- 02
Enter the hours you can bill in a year, then operator wage, fuel use and diesel price, oil and AdBlue, wear parts and other costs per hour.
- 03
Add overheads and profit to get the price per hour. Save it to the job, use it as a machine line in the job cost sheet or compare buying with hiring.
Formula
Depreciation = (acquisition − residual) ÷ years. Interest = (acquisition + residual) ÷ 2 × rate. Repairs = depreciation × repair factor.
Cost per hour = ownership per year ÷ billable hours + operator + fuel + oil and AdBlue + wear and other.
Price per hour = cost per hour × (1 + overheads) × (1 + financing) × (1 + risk) × (1 + profit).
