Compare your own purchase and rental quotes over the same planning period. Include resale, ownership costs and transport per hire session, and keep productive workdays separate from days actually billed by the rental company.

How it works

Enter productive workdays, billed hire days and the number of hire sessions. Add daily ownership cost, hire rate and transport per session.

Review both totals and the sensitivity scenarios. Save the quotes and assumptions; a hire result is as valid as a purchase result.

Formula

Ownership = purchase + fixed ownership + workdays × daily ownership − resale.

Hire = billed days × hire day rate + sessions × transport per session. The deployed Decimal service calculates the comparison.

Synthetic assumptions: purchase 30,000, resale 15,000, fixed ownership 3,000, 30 workdays at 100, 30 hire days at 800 and three transports at 1,000. Ownership totals 21,000 and hire 27,000.
