The Cat 305 is a 5-tonne machine that handles more than its size suggests. On Swedish jobs it goes from residential plots to smaller civil works and municipal service jobs, a machine that is easy to trailer yet still takes on real digging. It suits the firm that needs a machine for most things without moving up in transport weight.

On a residential plot the Cat 305 digs out for foundation and drainage, on a municipal service job it repairs road culverts and digs out services.
