Cone Log Splitters for Excavators
These log splitters are cone tools used with a rotating drive unit. The cone is the splitting tool; the drive supplies rotation. They differ from standalone log splitters that use a cylinder to push a wedge through the wood.

The article table lists AWA and GORE S4 and S5 models separately. The series name identifies an article; it is not a general specification for shaft profile, splitting force or an approved machine combination. Use the exact article number when comparing documents.
Check the drive before ordering
Start with the drive model and article number. Compare its tool connection, retaining arrangement, permitted loads and documented use with the selected splitter. The drive’s machine mount is a different connection from the joint between the drive and the cone.
S4 or S5?
Do not select solely by machine weight or because an auger carries the same series designation. Check the exact cone dimensions and connection against the drive documentation. Matching series names do not prove that AWA and GORE articles have identical dimensions or construction.
Timber size and permitted use
Describe the timber you intend to process and check the tool’s documented working limits. A category name or cone diameter does not establish unlimited log size, working depth or splitting force in tonnes. Working methods and safety distances must come from the manufacturer’s instructions for the approved combination.
Plan the complete purchase
List the cone, drive, machine mount and retaining parts separately when checking an offer. Reusing a drive is only an option after the combination has been verified. Compare current article prices and included parts rather than assuming a cone listing is a complete powered splitter.
Compare exact articles
Model designations identify the articles to compare. They are not a guarantee of machine fit or current stock.
